Overview
The Kinetic Press is one of the three core Gold-producing structures in Sandustry. Unlike the Shaker, it works on Burnt Residue — the byproduct left after burning — and converts it into Gold and Seeds. Its defining mechanic is gravity: the input must fall at least 25 tiles to generate enough kinetic force for the press to operate.
How to Use
- 1Position the Kinetic Press at the bottom of a drop of at least 25 tiles.
- 2Feed Burnt Residue from above so it falls into the press.
- 3Collect the Gold and Seeds from the output.
- 4Route the Seeds onward to feed your farming loop with a Planter Box.
Tips
- The community previously referred to this building as the 'Kinetic Slag Press'.
- Height is everything — build your Residue feed high enough to guarantee the 25-tile drop.
- Seeds are a valuable byproduct, not waste: they feed the Planter Box farming chain.
